January Blues

January, some may say is the worst month of the year, having that post New Year/Christmas slump, where you are trying to get motivated to complete those New Year's Resolution's but still have a tone of chocolate, cake and alcohol left over from the festive season. Do you eat it all in one night so it's gone and so then you can start that resolution to get into shape or gradually eat the left over Christmas goodness so you don't feel bad for eating it all in one sitting. You may have a dilemma there! Also the weather, the weather in the UK in January is awful, lets be honest. Those people who had two weeks off work for Christmas (sorry to those who work in retail, I know how you feel) are now back to work. I've just realised that I sound like a negative Nancy, which is probably what a lot of you feel right now, so that has to stop.

Here are some things that are definitely going to get me through these January Blues, they also may help you out. So here you go...

Pamper days

One of my New Year's Resolution's is to have at least one pamper night a week, where I come home from work, have a shower, wash my hair, use a hair mask, exfoliate, moisturise, use a face mask and all that jazz. I feel like mid-week is best for this, so when you loose that motivation and just want it to be the weekend again, just have a couple of hours to yourself, look after your skin and refresh yourself, so you're ready for the rest of the week ahead of you.

There is something positive about January and that is the January Sales. I always used to think the sales were mostly on Boxing Day and a couple of days after that, but no. It's January 12th and there are still so many deals going on. I would tell you all the items I've bought this January Sales, but that list would go on forever...I mean you have to use your Christmas money on something right?

Not to name drop or anything but both our brands have sales on atm, 'NuNu Jewellery' currently has an online sale and 'The Attic Store' currently has up to 70% off certain items, in store only. But honestly, I feel as though sales could really help you get over that January slump ya know, treat yo self! Buy some new clothes, new jewellery, new skin care, anything...and I'm sure it will help you!

Eat Healthy 

Right so I know this might be a bit of a long shot with all the left over Christmas food hanging about and meals out with friends and families, but this is something I am trying to get into the routine of doing as I feel like the best thing to do when you are feeling just meh during this month is to give yourself a little energy boost with some vitamins and minerals. Saying that, I am due to have a wine and cheese night with my friends later so ya know...but honestly eating just the slightest bit of fruit could make you feel 10x better about all that Christmas goodness you have been eating recently.

Work Out Classes/ Gym (Sales)

A lot of you have probably made 'work out more' as one of your New Year's Resolution's. Let's be honest, everyone does this, I know I do it every year and do I stick to it, yes...for about a month. But this year I honestly feel like I will work out for longer than a month this time, my friends are probably sick of me for constantly nagging about going to a spinning class, but I feel like going with a friend makes working out so much easier. You can have a laugh while working out which is great. Currently there are so many sales on Groupon for workout classes and gym memberships, so if you are worried about money, (I know how tight money can be after Christmas), research some deals, I am sure you will find one that is perfect for you.

Finally...book a Holiday!

Finally, what I feel like is the most important tip...book a holiday! There is no better feeling than booking a holiday for the summer and having a trip to look forward to. It will help motivate you through those dark mornings and working long hours through January and February, I promise. This is my third year of booking a holiday in December/January, for the summer. Time will go so quick when you know you have sunny weather, cocktails on the beach and a lush sea or pool waiting for you at the end of what some people call the worst months of the year!
